Kendriya Vidalaya Nangal Bhur(Gurdaspur)
Kendriya Vidyalaya Nangal Bhur came into existence on July 22nd, 1984 under the able guidance of Lt. Col AN Desh Pandey as the Chairman & Sh. Anand Saroop Bansal as Principal. The Vidyalaya made a humble beginning with nearly 300 students & Ten teachers with classes 1st to 5th . There were lot of problems in the initial stages because of temporary infrastructure but gradually it took out a proper shape and risen from class to class every year. In 1994 Vidyalaya shifted to its permanent building situated very close to National highway 1A leading from Jalandhar to Pathankot. The vidyalaya is situated in scenic surrounding with rural background around it and is catering the educational need of neighbouring Armed Force unit , Retired personnel and the local population . Today vidyalaya has grown in to a full fledged Senior Secondary School with two sections each from class I to XII having Science and Commerce stream and 982 students are studying in the vidyalaya . Vidyalaya has a beautiful campus with a Foot ball, Hockey, Volley ball, Basket ball, Kho-Kho ground, Badminton court, Cricket stadium, Children park, Front gardens and Scout park spread in 10.7 Acres of land. The vidyalaya is providing quality education to nearly 1000 students through a learned faculty of teachers and quality infrastructure, having well equipped Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Junior Science lab, Mathematics and Computer lab, Music, Games, SUPW and Drawing departments, Guidance and Counseling cell and a big and well furnished Library. During last 5-6 years vidyalaya has shown consistent growth in its Board results both qualitatively and quantitatively and is one of the two Vidyalayas of Jammu Region having 100% result in class XII for 3 consecutive years . All this is just a beginning. KV Nangal Bhur has to go miles. The staff and students will not be satisfied till KV Nangal Bhur is recognized at national and international level. Our Alumni association has just started and the day is not far when KV Nangal Bhur will be recognized as a premier institute among all KVs and will help in flattering the flag of Jammu region to their Zenith.

The Main Objectives Of
Kendriya Vidyalaya are:-
a) To meet the educational needs of the children of Transferable Central Govt. Employees including Defence
Personal.
b) To
develop the Vidyalaya as a model schools in context of the national goals of
Indian Education.

initiate and promote experimentation in education in collaboration with other
bodies like CBSE and NCERT.
d) To

The
Kendriya Vidyalayas aim at having not only a common "syllabus but
also a well prepared syllabus and good Text books, based on that syllabus. They
are intended to be equipped with good, libraries
good laboratories and variety of other useful co-curricular activities.
e) The Vidyalayas impart free
education upto Class VIII, Kendriya
Vidyalaya Sangathan has already adopted the new pattern of School
Education i.e. 10+2 pattern.
Primary Section:
Primary Section, the base of the school, is enrichly based on the
colourful activities to make it a more interesting and the learner centered.
Special teachers have been arranged to develop their
confidence in English speaking.
Information Technology:
Information Technology is the special and
distinguished factor of our Vidyalaya. The Vidyalaya
is well equipped with
two computer labs with
computers and competent staff. In primary as well as secondary section, the
different websites, study materials and innovative ideas through internet are
used to enhance teaching and
efficiency

Audio Visual Aids are the assets of Vidyalaya, Teaching- learning Process is made more effective & innovative

audio-video cassettes., LCD Projects etc.
Science Labs:
Well equipped Labs for Physics, Chemistry, Biology. for
seniors as well as junior science Lab for junior classes is available .
SCHOOL ACTIVITIES
Morning Assembly: is a training ground for being
human, patriotic and a good citizen. Celebration of days, recitations, speeches
, debate & declamations, quiz, melodies and other performing arts are a
band of activities in the mornings.
House System: Shiva-ji, Tagore, Ashoka & Raman House (s) provide opportunities for
students to grow & develop their personality through inter-house competitions.
Sports & Games: School has adopted
Basketball, Volleyball, Hockey, Football, as team games. House -wise
